At the end of this course, learners will be able to:
LO1: Articulate problems in a clear and concise manner by identifying the symptoms, the sources from which the symptoms could lead to potential problem(s) at the workplace
LO2: Apply logical deduction to anticipate, detect problems and to analyse relevant information with regards to the perceived problems at the workplace
LO3: Identify the exact problem using techniques such as elimination process, objective reasoning or process questioning and the impact of the problem on one's job role and the involved parties
LO4: Adopt appropriate tools and techniques in analysing the root causes of workplace problems and to identify the problem's possible sources
LO5: Adopt appropriate procedure for evaluating selected ideas for problem resolution and to provide recommendations to resolve the issue at hand
LO6: Adopt suitable methods to determine the strengths and limitations or constraints of each selected idea
LO7: Consider the appropriate factors in selecting suitable modes of communication
LO8: Evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented solutions and plans, area of impact and corrective actions taken
LO9: Adopt appropriate reflective mechanisms for the entire problem-solving process
What You'll Learn
On completion of this unit, learner will acquire
the skills to work with a team of subordinates in
practising problem-solving and decision-making,
which includes anticipating and identifying
potential problems, facilitating team's effort to
resolve the problem, making appropriate
decisions and seeing implementation plans
through.
Minimum Entry Requirement
Learners are assumed to:
- Be able to speak, listen, read and write English at a proficiency level not lower than
the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace
Literacy (WPL) 4
- Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level not lower than the ES WSQ Workplace Numeracy (WPN) level 4
