This course aims to equip learners with the knowledge of selection, installation, safe use and maintenance of various critical laboratory equipment.
What You'll Learn
This course is intended to provide an overview of various critical laboratory equipment and safety precautions when working with them in higher containment biomedical laboratories. Topics included in the course syllabus are relevant national and international guidelines applicable to Biosafety Cabinet (BSC) and Autoclave, use and maintenance of different types of laboratory equipment (BSC, Centrifuge, Autoclave, other primary containment devices, etc), and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for safe use of the equipment.
Minimum Entry Requirement
- Degree or diploma in biomedical science or equivalent field with one year of laboratory experience
OR
- Attended and Passed the short course: Principles and Practices of Laboratory Biosafety and Biosecurity
