This course is only for the low wage workers in the PWM-Security Sector.
WSQ Access Control Management is designed to equip security officers with the essential knowledge and skills to operate basic security equipment such as an access control, alarm monitoring system and closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring equipment.
What You'll Learn
The learning units are sequenced to cover key points from the basic security equipment such as access control equipment, alarm monitoring equipment and CCTV monitoring equipment to the roles and responsibilities and organisational procedures of the respective equipment. Upon learning about the equipment, roles and responsibilities and organisational procedures, learners will next learn to apply the knowledge attained in different work situations; namely:
- Operating access control equipment to identify access points of entry for different levels of authorised entries
- Operating alarm monitoring equipment to report locations of unauthorised entries
- Operating CCTV monitoring equipment to identify the nature of unauthorised entries
Minimum Entry Requirement
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak, and listen to English at WPL Level 3.
- Ability to manipulate numbers at WPN Level 3.
- Education: Minimum Secondary 2 education.
- Age: 21 and above
- Experience in Security Industry: 6 months security industry experience as a Security Officer.
- Learners should be able to read a computer monitor and see at a distance and possess basic skills in operating a computer
- At the ATO Admin/ Registration Counter:
- A checklist to be provided to Admin to ensure the learner requirements (above) are met
- To make recommendations on suitable courses if the individual does not meet the entry criteria
- Verification of authenticity can be done via checking on certificates
- Those that do not meet the entry requirement will be subjected to interview before acceptance
