The Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Critical Care) course will offer the following modules:

(1) Evidence-Based Practice (45 hours)

(2) Neurological, Gastrointestinal and Endocrine Critical Care Nursing (60 hours)

(3) Renal and Multisystem Critical Care Nursing (60 hours)

Total training hours: 165

What You'll Learn

At the completion of the PDC, learners will be able to:

(1) Apply evidence in critical care nursing in the development of critical care nursing practices using principles of evidence-based practice and appropriate appraisal framework;

(2) Perform physical assessment for appropriate clinical decisions and interventions using a systematic, comprehensive and focused approach;

(3) Plan for care of critically ill client with complex multisystem dysfunctions in critical care setting using a systematic, comprehensive and focused approach;

(4) Demonstrate competency in the requisite skills for complex problems and surgeries of critically ill client with complex multisystem dysfunctions in critical care setting according to evidence-based clinical guidelines; and

(5) Apply concepts of care in critically ill clients and families with terminal illness, end of life and bereavement in critical care setting with reference to appropriate psychosocial concepts and models.

Minimum Entry Requirement

• Diploma in Nursing from a local Polytechnic or an equivalent qualification;
• Singapore Nursing Board registration;
• 2 years post registration experience with a minimum of 1 year in the discipline of study.
