Positive Psychology

What You'll Learn

This module is part of the Post-Diploma Certificate in Counselling and Coaching.

This module will equip students with the knowledge of positive emotional states and processes, positive cognitive states and processes, prosocial behavior, understanding and changing human behavior and positive environments. Students will develop skills in applying positive psychology theories to authentic career counselling sessions. Students will acquire basic positive psychology knowledge through various modes of learning, namely, lectures coupled with activities, role plays, discussions and debates.

• Flow, Self Determination and Intrinsic Motivation
• Emotional Intelligence
• Positive Self, Relationships, Institutions
• Application of Positive Psychological Approaches in Career Counselling
• Public Policy and the Good Life

Minimum Entry Requirement

Applicants should possess at least a local diploma qualification or equivalent from recognised institution.

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
