This module is designed to familiarize the students with Port processes and various types of equipment used in the ports. This would be useful to both categories of students, i.e., those who are new to this field as also those are already working in this area. The structured course contents provide the opportunity to the students to gain better knowledge and perspective of various components of the ports.
Ports are undergoing major changes due to the advent of new technologies. These technologies aim at improving the efficiency of the port operations while at the same time reducing the human effort required for various activities. This module will also familiarize the students with latest automation in port processes and equipment, thus making the students ready to undertake roles in the modern ports of today.
On the completion of this course, the students would be able to have a broad understanding of the port processes and its equipment as well as the latest automation technologies for the ports.
