Learners will benefit from taking a holistic view of organisational strategies and priorities when considering approaches in leading team leaders to achieve organisational goals. They will start with identifying skills requirements for the team leaders' current job roles and potential future roles by using a Learning Needs Analysis.
Thereafter, they will be equipped with knowledge and skills to facilitate opportunities for team leaders' professional learning and development. They will acquire the competencies to develop learning and development plans for their staff. They will also be able to identify and apply methods to facilitate learning by their staff.
Finally, they will learn how to apply current models to coach and mentor team leaders to facilitate team leaders in enhancing their work performance.
What You'll Learn
This course is tailored to the needs of Early Childhood (EC) and Early Intervention (EI) leaders in the EC sector. Center leaders will understand the importance of managing the continuous learning activities of staff to maximise their potentials and capabilities. This way staff will be able to contribute effectively to their centers.
Learners will acquire the competencies to identify the skills requirements of the jobs in their centers, learning needs of their team members, apply codes of practices and standards relevant to EC sector, develop learning and development plans and apply methods to facilitate learning for their staff.
Learners will also be to identify and apply coaching and mentoring methods and strategies to improve the abilities of their team members.

Learning Unit 1 Know Your Team Capability
- Trends and developments in learning and code of practice and standards in EC sector
- Roles of EC and EI leaders
- Organisational goals and strategies relating to capability development
- Learning Needs Analysis
- Strategies and methods to identify Team Leaders' skills requirements
Learning Unit 2 Enhance Team Leaders' Performance
- Center leaders' roles and accountabilities in enhancing staff's performance
- Types of Learning opportunities
- Methods of establishing learning priorities, outcomes and time frames to address skills needs
- Development of Learning & Development plans and resources
- Methods to facilitate learning
Learning Unit 3 Coach Team Leaders
- Coaching and mentoring models and implementation strategies
- Methods to review and improve coaching outcomes
- Effectiveness of strategies to promote continuous learning
Minimum Entry Requirement
Learners are expected to have a minimum of:
- Upper secondary level education
- 2 – 3 years working experience
- Able to read, write, speak and listen to English at WSQ WPL level 5
- Able to manipulate numbers ta WSQ WPN level 5
