This course provides participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills to safely and efficiently operate a Reach Truck in various workplace environments. It includes training on the operation of general mechanical equipment such as pallet trucks and Reach Truck, with a focus on following proper procedures to ensure safe handling of mechanised tools. The course also emphasizes adherence to safety rules, regulations, and legislation, while highlighting precautionary measures to prevent accidents and ensure safe operations. Participants will gain the confidence and competence needed for effective equipment operation in compliance with workplace safety standards.
What You'll Learn
The objective of this learning unit is to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate a Reach Truck, enabling them to operate general mechanical equipment such as pallet trucks and Reach Truck, follow procedures for safe operation, apply relevant safety rules and legislation, and implement precautionary measures to ensure safety during mechanised equipment operation.

Minimum Entry Requirement
Literacy proficiency:
Worker and Operator – Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills (ES) level 3
Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ES level 3
Numeracy proficiency: Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES level 3
Educational level:
Learners must be above 18 years of age and are
assumed to:
- Have a basic knowledge of the relevant sector of work
- Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills (ES) level 3
- Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ES level 3
