Neonatal and Paediatric Sonography (classroom & Asynchronous E-Learning)

In this course, the participant will develop an understanding of a range of paediatric and neonatal ultrasound examinations. Topics include principle in neonatal and paediatric ultrasound scan, common indications, protocol and scanning technique of the infant brain, hip, spine, abdomen, kidneys and bowel, normal and abnormal sonographic findings.

• Familiarise with common indications for neonatal and paediatrics imaging requests.
• Understand the basic principles and technical requirement of neonatal and paediatric ultrasound imaging.
• Understand the criteria for diagnostic quality images.
• Recognise modifications to routine scanning approaches and limitations in regards to imaging of neonates and paediatrics.
• Familiar with the normal and abnormal imaging characteristics of the neonatal and paediatric ultrasound.
