Mtd913c Teaching and Learning in Higher Education: Reflective Practice (classroom & Asynchronous E-Learning)

This course aims to guide learners to apply teaching and assessment strategies to facilitate their students' learning, evaluate teaching according established best practices at the higher education level, and create teaching portfolio to demonstrate learners' teaching experiences. Some examples of job roles and task that would benefit from this course are:

Key Task(s): Create curriculum design specifications based on analyses of curriculum objectives to guide development of courseware materials; Define desired learning experience journeys for learners based on analyses of objectives; Oversee the development of courseware materials to ensure alignment with curriculum objectives; Prepare lesson plans in line with learner needs; Analyse courseware materials to ensure alignment with learner needs; Facilitate learning across multiple delivery modes in line with lesson plans; Deliver lesson content and coursework to learners in line with lesson plans; Facilitate group discussions for learners; Provide feedback and ongoing support to learners in Higher Education; Critical reflection on teaching for continuous improvement; Document the impact of your teaching.

What You'll Learn

In this third part of the Teaching and Learning in Higher Education course, we aim to understand and apply best practices in university teaching. Through this course, you will develop a critical and reflective mindset by closely examining your own teaching and drawing insights from your students' feedback and responses to your teaching. Finally, you will learn to assemble a Teaching Portfolio that highlights your purposeful teaching intentions and showcases the impact of your teaching.

Minimum Entry Requirement

Trainers with at least 1 year of teaching or training experiences in their own field, or someone who is currently working in a higher education context.
