This course in Logic Design is intended for engineers or personnel working or intending to upskill for a career in the manufacturing or digital electronics industry. It aims to train learners to provide them with basic knowledge in design for test. With a focus on topics relevant to Very Large-Scale Integration (VLSI), learners will obtain comprehensive knowledge on the testability from device to architectural level. This course will also prepare learners to be ready for testing chips with various test standards.
What You'll Learn
Learners will acquire basic knowledge in digital electronics and design. The course focuses on combinational and sequential schemes using regular Integrated Circuits (ICs), Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs), Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) as well as principles of design of digital units, modules of memory and other devices.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Describe problems of synchronous design.
- Explain asynchronous Finite State Machine (FSM), arithmetic units, and PLDs.
- Explain the use of memory devices, basic memory operations and architecture
Minimum Entry Requirement
This course is suitable for individuals who wish to join or progress within Engineering Services in the manufacturing/digital electronics industry. Prior knowledge in basic electronics and circuit theories will be an advantage.
