This course satisfies the formal training element of the American Society for Non-Destructive Testing SNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT CP-105 and NAS 410 / EN 4179 and is suitable for managers, engineers and technicians at all levels of experience that require familiarization or formal training for qualification in this subject. The training programme consists of both theoretical and practical hands-on application, allowing the student time to obtain a good foundation in this method of non destructive testing by practising a variety of inspection techniques under the supervision of qualified instructor(s) using different types, methods and sensitivity levels of penetrant systems. Participants will also have the opportunity to process and inspect parts in an actual Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) facility. Standards and specifications associated with the FPI process such as ASTM E1417 (latest revision) will be introduced and discussed in this course.
What You'll Learn
This course aims to provide participants with an adequate theoretical and practical knowledge of the Liquid Penetrant Testing process including system checks, interpretation or evaluation techniques and writing of Non Destructive Testing instructions or test reports to prepare them for qualification examinations in accordance with their employer's Non Destructive Testing Written Practice.
By the end of the Course, participants will be able to:
- Process parts/components in an actual Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) facility.
- Inspect parts/components in an actual Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) facility.
- Develop FPI instructions and techniques.
