TLL103 surveys the key developments in the history of Tamil literature. It exposes students to a range and variety of Tamil literature. Students are provided with a brief account of the development and growth of poetry, fiction and non-fiction at various time periods in Tamil Nadu's history. The many foreign invasions, infiltrations, and dominations that have occurred in Tamil Nadu over the centuries have also influenced and shaped its literary field. The course also covers the literary development in Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Singapore.
