Foundations of Sustainability – Opportunities and Risks (classroom, Synchronous E-Learning)

• Understand the meaning of sustainability and sustainable development
• Understand what is global warming, climate change and biodiversity loss, and what impact these will have on the economy and habitat
• Understand the basic legal and international frameworks underpinning sustainable development "“ the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG), United Nations Environment Programme (UN EP), Kyoto Protocol, Paris Agreement and 2021 United Nations Climate Conference (COP26)
• Develop an understanding of what it means to be carbon neutral, net zero and net zero climate
• Introduction to Singapore's Green Plan and why this helps to meet the country's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC)

What is Sustainability? Why is it important to our future? This introductory course on Sustainability is intended to build a solid foundation on understanding the basics of Sustainability, the UN Sustainability Development Goals, global warming and the Paris Agreement, and why it is important for all of us to work together to meet each country's Nationally Determined Contributions.
