Foundations of Data Science: Python and SQL

This course introduces learners to database, Structured Query Language (SQL) and Python data science libraries. By the end of the module, learners should have a solid understanding of database fundamentals, data modeling, advanced Structured Query Language (SQL), data transformation with Numpy and Pandas, exploratory data analysis, database connectors and data visualisation.

What You'll Learn

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

• Explain the fundamentals of databases, Structured Query Language (SQL), and Python data science libraries.
• Apply Structured Query Language (SQL) commands to create, manipulate, and query

relational databases.

• Analyse datasets using Python libraries such as NumPy and Pandas for data transformation and exploratory data analysis.
• Evaluate data quality and perform data cleaning techniques to prepare datasets for analysis.
• Create effective data visualizations using various Python libraries to communicate insights from data.

Minimum Entry Requirement

A background in IT is not necessary but preferable. This course is designed to cater to the intricacies of data science, data engineering and AI. Hence, individuals with a background in these disciplines bring valuable prior knowledge that will enhance their learning experience and understanding of the curriculum.
