Diploma in Engineering (power Engineering)

The Diploma in Engineering (Power Engineering) is to equip participants to work competently in the areas of electrical installations, power transmission and distribution, as well as power system operation and protection. This course is suitable for participants who intent to work in industries that include building electrical services, facility maintenance, transportation, port, manufacturing, energy and chemicals, marine and offshore.

What You'll Learn

This course provides knowledge and skill upgrading for technical officers in electrical or power engineering to carry out electrical work such as installation, maintenance, operation, inspection and testing as well as design and submissions of plans and drawings of electrical installation systems. This course enables graduates to meet the academic requirement for the application of Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) certification.

Minimum Entry Requirement

GCE 'O' Levels

The following GCE 'O' Level grades and with at least 1 year of relevant working experience:

• English Language Grade 1 "“ 7
• Mathematics (Elementary or Additional) Grade 1 "“ 6
• Science Grade 1 "“ 6

Nitec in an engineering or information technology discipline

GPA > 3.5 OR

GPA > 3.0 and at least 1 year of relevant working experience

Nitec in Technology in an engineering or information technology discipline

GPA > 3.5 and at least 1 year of relevant working experience

Higher Nitec in an engineering or information technology discipline

GPA > 2.0 OR

GPA > 1.5 and at least 1 year of relevant working experience

Higher Nitec in Technology in an engineering or information technology discipline

GPA > 2.0 and at least 1 year of relevant working experience

WSQ

Relevant WSQ Advanced Certificate (or higher) with at least 1 year of relevant working experience and Level 6 for both WSQ Workplace Literacy SOA and Workplace Numeracy SOA
