Cybersecurity Operations Fundamentals

This course aims to equip participants with the competency required for a secured deployment of ICS in manufacturing facilities and critical infrastructure. It offers an overview of ICS and fundamental cybersecurity operations, encompassing subjects like OT architecture, OT systems and devices, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), network security, network security management, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to make a differentiation between OT and IT cybersecurity and be equipped with critical knowledge and skills to identify cyber threats to ICS and propose solutions for mitigation.

What You'll Learn

Industrial Control Systems (ICS) is an Operational Technology (OT) used to control and automate industrial processes such as manufacturing, product handling, production, and distribution. ICS is deployed widely in factories and plants. With the convergence of Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) in many industries, such as manufacturing, energy, healthcare, and transportation, this course prepares cybersecurity specialists to address new challenges as well as unique requirements and vulnerabilities associated with both OT and IT systems.

Minimum Entry Requirement

Applicants should at least have a diploma or higher qualification from local Polytechnics/ Universities in one of these areas: electrical, electronic, mechanical, manufacturing, communication, computer, instrumentation, control engineering, information technology or related field.

Applicants with other equivalent qualifications will be considered on a case-to-case basis with relevant working experiences.

Recognition of Prior Learning:

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
