This course aims to equip learners with the following insights:
- Assist with facility design and construction in accordance with applicable standards, guidelines and legislations as well as biosafety and biosecurity principles and practices.
- Conduct pre-commissioning inspections to assess readiness of facilities to meet requirements for commissioning
- Plan and develop management procedures related to facilities, personnel, laboratory processes as well as health and safety to maintain safe working environments.
- Assist in designing operations and maintenance programmes to ensure optimal facility performance and integrity of containment.
- Implement appropriate recommendations to address non-conformities detected during pre-commissioning inspection.
What You'll Learn
This course is dedicated for the planning and design, construction, maintenance and certification of containment facilities. The topics covered in this course include different biosafety levels laboratory architectural designs' principles and considerations different aspects of operations and maintenance programmes for maintaining biomedical laboratories, national framework of containment laboratory certification, commissioning and decommissioning of laboratories.
Minimum Entry Requirement
- Degree or diploma in biomedical science or equivalent field with one year of laboratory experience

- Attended and Passed the short course: Principles and Practices of Laboratory Biosafety and Biosecurity
