The knowledge and application covered in Computer Communications are:
o Covers networking fundamentals and communication.
o Understanding the OSI 7-layers functionality and protocols.
o Develop skill in planning and setup of networks.
o Equipping participants with technical skills in testing of network connectivity.
What You'll Learn
This module provides the students with the basic concepts in data communication in computer network. It provides the necessary understanding of essential equipment and protocols used in the implementation of computer networking. In addition, configuration of network equipment and network planning are also included with extensive practical sessions.
Minimum Entry Requirement
Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following entry requirements:
(i) Any diploma from a polytechnic* in Singapore
(ii) Any degree from a university** in Singapore
- NYP, NP, RP, SP, or TP
- * NTU, NUS, SIT, SMU, SUSS, or SUTD (candidates with degrees from other universities are considered on a case-by-case basis)
Foreign equivalent qualifications or other qualifications will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test.
