Students will learn to view ageing from a holistic perspective and at the same time differentiate and manage biological, physical, psychological and physiological ageing. Students will also acquire knowledge and skills related to mental wellness and resilience for seniors in order to promote positive ageing.
What You'll Learn
This module is part of the Modular Certificate in Understanding Health Across Lifespan.
This module will provide students with an in-depth understanding of the biopsychosocial needs of seniors.
Minimum Entry Requirement
O Levels
- 3 relevant passes; and
- At least 1 year relevant work experience
Higher Nitec
- GPA ≥ 2.0; or
- GPA ≥ 1.5 and at least 1 year relevant work experience
Nitec
- GPA ≥ 3.5; or
- GPA ≥ 3.0 and at least 1 year relevant work
Higher Nitec in Technology / Services
- GPA ≥ 2.0 and at least 1 year relevant work experience
Nitec in Technology / Services
- GPA ≥ 3.5 and at least 1 year relevant work experience
WSQ
- Relevant WSQ Advanced Certificate (or higher); and
- At least 1 year relevant work experience; and
- Level 6 WSQ Workplace Literacy SOA and Workplace Numeracy SOA
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 2 years of relevant working experience. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
