Profile
Esayidi TVET College stands as the main skills lifeline for young people across the South Coast and inland parts of KwaZulu-Natal. In a region where opportunities can feel spread thin, it gives families in Port Shepstone, Gamalakhe, Kokstad and uMzimkhulu a solid, local place to turn school into real work-ready training.
The college covers the southern stretch of the province through six main campuses. Port Shepstone Campus in the CBD serves as the head office, with Gamalakhe and Enyenyezi handling the coastal communities. Inland, Kokstad, uMzimkhulu and Clydesdale Campuses reach further into the Harry Gwala and Ugu districts.
Supporting these are five community development centres, the Sizanani Skills Centre in Gamalakhe, and the latest addition – the Esayidi Technology Centre in Uvongo on the lower South Coast. This setup grew to make sure students from both seaside towns and rural areas do not have to travel far for quality vocational education.
Esayidi TVET College offers National Certificate Vocational programmes and Nated courses in engineering, business studies and other fields that fit local jobs in tourism, farming and small industry.
A big recent step was the launch of the Digital Innovation Lab at uMzimkhulu Campus. There students now learn coding, robotics, AI and problem-solving skills to prepare for new kinds of work. The college also hosted the South Africa-China TVET Cooperation Symposium in 2025, which shows its growing links outside South Africa. Many graduates find work both here and in other countries.
