On completion of this course, learner will have the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of an Auxiliary Police Officer to prepare daily work activities, perform armed guard access control duties and armed patrol duties, report incidents as well as hand and take over duties.

K6 – Relevant legal requirements and standards relating to armed guard and patrol activities
K7 – Protocols in handling incident security breaches and irregularities while performing armed guard and patrol activities
K8 – Force and guard duties doctrine
K9 – Principles of effective communication
K10 – Organizational procedures for reporting of incidents during guard and patrol activities
K11 "“ Types of mobile interface and technology
A1 – Check and clarify assignment details with appropriate authorities
A2 – Prepare and arrange equipment necessary for armed guard and patrol duties
A3 – Perform guarding and patrolling of premises in accordance with organisational procedures with the use of mobile devices
A4 – Perform appreciation of area according to organisational procedures
A5 – Access the situation to determine the type of risks and threats occurred during duty
A6 – Take appropriate action to situations involving suspicious objects and person in accordance with organisational operating procedures
A7 – Provide situation reports to control room periodically in accordance with organisational operating procedures
Minimum Entry Requirement
Qualification:
- The minimum entry educational qualification for Auxiliary Police Officers and APO (Enforcement) below the rank of Auxiliary Police Inspector shall be 3 GCE 'N" Level credits, 3 SPM Credits, NITEC or their equivalent.
- The minimum entry educational qualification for Security Officer shall be 3 GCE 'N" Level credits, 3 SPM Credits, NITEC or their equivalent and have completed the Basic Licensing Unit.
Nationality:
Singapore Citizens, Malaysian Citizens who are Singapore Permanent Residents or Malaysian holders of Work Permits or Employment Passes.
Physical and Medical Requirement:
- Certified by a medical doctor to be physically fit for work
- Not be colour-blind or hearing impaired
Entry Requirements:
- Be able to read, write and speak English at WPL Level 4
- Be able to manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4
- Be able to act in a professional manner
