The course will equip learners with the knowledge and skills to support the continued growth of environmental care in Singapore in the areas of air, water and solid waste pollution control and management, as well as the new sustainable economy, particularly in the areas of energy management and sustainability.
What You'll Learn
This subject covers issues related to urban solid waste management and an integrated approach to environmental management through the consideration of the potential impact of human activities on the physical and biological environment. Solid waste topics include generation, collection, transportation, thermal recovery technology, biological recovery technology and landfill. Continual improvement to organisation environmental performance is covered in environmental management system (ISO 14001), which includes environmental regulations in Singapore.
Minimum Entry Requirement
The minimum entry requirement for Academic CET is a Polytechnic Diploma or ITE Technical Diploma/ Technical Engineer Oiploma / Work-Learn Technical Diploma in Science, Technical, Engineering, Maths (STEM) or equivalent; or a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; or a Post-Secondary Certificate with at least 5 years of relevant working experience.
